Hi Joe,
When you open Office365 Word from the Start menu (as opposed to
double-clicking on a Word document), focus will be in the edit pane of
Document1. JAWS does not announce this. You can simply start typing
your new document, or you can toggle between the Status Bar, Ribbon,
and Document Pane by pressing F6 (which JAWS _does_ announce).
