I have a query here Paul re the delete button as I have been told it is a minus
symbol to the left of the book.

Eleanor,
I believe that at the end of the 14-day lending period the book will be
automatically “returned” to the library and deleted from the iPad. If you
don't want to wait then you can manually returned it to the library. To
manually return and/or delete a book, swipe a finger over the “shelf”; a red
“delete” button appears at the right end of the shelf. Tap the button and
choose to return and delete the book or delete without returning. (You’ll be
able to re-download the book later during the lending period if you chose to
delete without returning.)
As I don't have this system on my Iphone I am not sure if this is accessible
but give it a try.

It doesn't Paul. It works if Voice Over is turned off and a sighted person
deletes it. Hence my query to the list.

Hi Eleanor,
I don't have books on my Iphone but what happens if you try doing a "Double
tap" first on the book in question you want to delete then straight away
afterwards holding your finger on the book. Usually doing this will invoke a
delete option for other things so it might work for deleting books.

I am unable to delete a book using Voice Over. My friend who is blind says she
has to get a sighted person to do this and she has to turn off voice over for
this purpose. Surely this should not be the case, especially in the case of
