A Gardening Group for people living with Sight Loss.
Here at Fighting Blindness, we recognise that Gardening is a specific interest
for many of our members and service users. With the summer approaching, we
know that Gardening can be a great way of getting outdoors, keeping active and
focused and can be of great therapeutic value in its own right. We imagine
there is a wealth of collected gardening hints and tips specific to sight loss
that can be shared amongst you and we are hoping that by bringing
similarly-minded people together, you can support and assist each other in
getting your garden - whether large or small, ready for summer 2021.
The Fighting Blindness Support Service is proposing a pilot special interest
group to run throughout the summer on a trial basis. We are looking at meeting
on a Monday afternoon each month from May onwards to August initially(2-3.30pm)
held over the Zoom platform*. It is hoped that this mode of communication will
allow for participation by individuals throughout the country.
* Dates: Monday May 10th, Monday June 14th, Monday July 12th, Monday
August 9th.
* The Group will meet from 2.00 to 3.30pm.
* Venue: Zoom. (*Training on Zoom can be provided by Fighting Blindness
in advance of joining).
