Hi all,
this is for Anne Marie's question she had in the meeting today and for
anyone else interested.
To set the default behavior for Chrome browser when it starts, including
opening a startup page, follow this:
1. Open Setting -> On startup or type this in Chrome address bar:
chrome://settings/onStartup
2. Select "Opee specific page or a set of pages".
3. Tab and select Add page and input the site's address. You can also
tab more and find "Use current page", which will add the current page to
default open on Chrome's startup.
4. The new settings are applied immediately, so you can simply close
this tab.
Another useful thing in Chrome is to set the default search engine, and
also assign a shortcut key to search
1. Open Settings -> Search engines or type chrome://settings/search
2. Tab and select "Manage search engines and search"
3. There are multiple options in there: keyboard shortcut (default is
space when you focus the address bar), which search engine to use, and
how to quickly access the bookmark manager and the history (by typing
@bookmarks or @history in the address bar, for example) but you can also
customize those.
I hope this helps. Any difficulties, just let me know.
All the best,
-Adrian
