Celebrate World Sight Day and International Braille Week with Sight and
Sound Technology this week! Two Events not to be Missed.
Imagine a world without Braille? Can you think about how Braille has
impacted positively on your life, or on the lives of people with whom you
work? Maybe you're a family member or a friend of a Braille user and you've
seen first-hand how this revolutionary code has made a difference? To
celebrate National Braille Week, Sight and Sound Technology join with their
great friends and colleagues from UKAAF, the UK Association for Accessible
Formats and the Braillists Foundation, for a lunchtime chat on Tuesday
October 12th, at 12:30.
The panel will talk not only about their own use of Braille in their
personal and professional lives, but will actively encourage audience input
and want to hear your Braille stories and experiences.
In short, if you are passionate about Braille and want to shout it from the
rooftops, this lunchtime event is most certainly for you!

This World Sight Day, we will celebrate the theme #LoveYourEyes with an
evocative conversation with a diverse panel, who will discuss how they have
found or are working on ways to accept their vision loss to lead full,
active and varied lives.
Coming to terms with sight loss is not always an easy path. It's not always
a linear path - as life circumstances or your level of vision changes, so
too might your attitude towards it and you might need to hit re-set. But the
one thing we can all agree on is that acceptance is the key to moving on and
finding ways to overcome the barriers that sight loss presents.
