Sight and Sound run a fortnightly Webinar on a Wednesday afternoon, as well
as supporting other online events, covering different technology and
challenges for people who are blind or partially sighted.
The last 14 or so months of the Covid-19 pandemic and associated
restrictions has changed almost every aspect of our life and of how we have
functioned as a society. It has also robbed us of so many opportunities,
such as meeting friends and family, socialising and eating out, and travel.
As we emerge from lockdown and start to find our way in the new world it is
a good time to reflect and re-connect. On this week's Webinar Wednesday, the
guest speaker is Melanie Leamy. Melanie is a blind Reiki practitioner, Reiki
teacher for all levels from beginner to advanced, Aroma Touch Technique
therapist and Mindfulness Meditation instructor with 20 years experience
working with clients of all age groups and from all walks of life both in
Germany and in Ireland.
This session will allow us all to have some space to reflect and relax, as
Melanie takes us through a series of meditation exercises. There will also
be lots of time for you to put your own questions to Melanie, and we'll hear
more about her business and how you can avail of Melanie's services online.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day Coffee and Chat with Sight and Sound
Technology
Thursday 20th May is the 10th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). The
purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about
digital access and inclusion, for the more than One Billion people with
disabilities around the world for whom digital inclusion is key.
This webinar focuses on how people are using technology in different walks
of life. Join for a virtual coffee and a chat, when Sight and Sound
Technology's Stuart Lawler will lead a panel discussion to talk all about
technology and digital accessibility. The panellists will share their own
journey using assistive and mainstream technology and will talk about what
works, what doesn't and what they might like to see in the future.
