Creating a Shopping List
Alexa can help you create a shopping list and when you are ready to shop you
can access the list on your Alexa app on your smartphone. Just say "Alexa,
create a shopping list". Alexa will reply "what can I add for you". Just
speak the items you would like to add with a pause between each item. If you
add an item by mistake you can also say "Alexa, remove said item".
You can find your shopping list in the Alexa app by going to Settings and
then tapping on lists and then tapping on the shopping list name. Sometimes
it will appear on the Home screen of the Alexa app on your smartphone.
Another handy feature when asking Alexa for a recipe is, for example,
"Alexa, give me a Chicken recipe". It will respond with a popular chicken
recipe and you will get the option to start recipe or send it to your phone.
If you respond by saying send it to my phone Alexa sends the list of
ingredients to your phone in the Alexa app. Inside the app you get options
like add to shopping list or share list or take to store, so you can then go
to the shop and gather what you need.
Disney Plus can now be linked to Google Devices
If you have a Google Home device such as a Google Home smart display or a
Google Home Nest mini speaker you can now link your Disney Plus subscription
to your Google Home app on your smartphone. After your account is linked
successfully it is very easy to use. This allows you to ask for your
favourite Disney shows with your voice and send them to a nearby Chromecast
device.
You can say "Hey Google, play Star Wars from Disney plus on the TV". You can
also ask it to pause or fast forward five minutes or play the next episode.
Films like Toy Story, Marvel Heroes, and the Lion King are available as well
as the National Geographic Channel. Almost all shows are available with
Audio description, which can be turned on in the Disney Plus app.
The Disney Plus app itself, available on smartphones, is accessible with all
elements readable with VoiceOver and TalkBack. It is also intuitive and easy
to navigate.
There is good colour contrast, so all elements and text are easy to see for
people with differing degrees of visual impairments.
The easiest way to turn on Audio description is to start playing a title
with Audio description and from there you can change the audio settings to
English Audio description. Once enabled Audio description will stay on for
all other titles.
