I have been making enquiries in a similar vein lately and although the
news isn't particularly positive here in brief are my findings.
For those with Satellite as for TV for example certainly most have a
radio facility including BBC Radio Five Live and Talk Sport.
You have 'good old Am' but for how long well that's another story.
Should my memory serve me right Eamonn O'C had a solution which he did
post here some time ago but unfortunately I can't find it!
You basically can listen on the net to AM broadcasts provided by amateur
radio enthusiasts.
I popped a mail to the UK radio Listeners list this morning and this is
what James wrote back:
Hi Tony,
You're not going to be 'banned' for using a vpn. The vpn might not
work, they sometimes don't (surfshark usually does) but nobody is
banning you in the future for using it. Way too many false positives
(I've had enough of them when five live thinks I'm abroad when I'm
not) and nobody hates their customer service staff that much.

find ball by ball commentary on 'BBC Sounds', BBC 5 live and of course, the
popular 'Talk Sport'.
However, due to rights restrictions due to territory or country these
'Radio' commentaries are down.
So for us 'Radiophiles' and especially for a blind person, do we in Ireland,
have a useful 'Radio' service which may pick up on this dilemma.
Obviously, I use my 'Victor Stream Reader for most of my entertainment and
would so like to see something come up in this vein?
