Subject: [fb-exchange] Tooday's Meeting
In Attendance: Cearbhall O Meadhra, Annette McCarthy, Dominique Farrell, Marian
Brennan, Kevin Cave, Martin Lalor, Michael Tyrrell, Bert Browne, John Acton,
DavidLarkin, Padraig McLoughlin and Michael Lavin.

Martin Lalor has an issue with his Kapsis phone whereby the Caller ID function
is not looking up the caller's name and is just displaying the caller's number.
We tried changing Caller ID settings but to no avail. Martin felt this may be
due to his change of provider.
Annette McCarthy's phone showed no network service and after trying a reset the
problem persisted. Her provider is Metior and the meeting felt that there may
be a problem with dust or a loose sim card. Padraig had a similar issue as this
and it was resolved by a visit to the provider.
A discussion ensued on Android phones and the fact that they are all so
different compared with an iPhone.
Bert enquired if an app on an Android phone could be installed from the
PlayStore on a laptop. John Acton said that this wasn't possible.
Padraig is to investigate local restaurants for our Christmas lunch on Monday
19th December; the meeting felt that a budget of around â¬25 was agreeable.
Cearbhall had invited Stuart Lawlor to the Exchange Club and Stuart called in
at 12:00 noon. He outlined some of the services provided by NCBI as well as
bringing along the Amazon Echo and the Orbit braille display.
Michael Tyrrell queried the delay in getting I.T. support from NCBI. Stuart
accepted the fact that this was due to a shortage of NCBI personnel in the
South dublin area.
The meeting felt that OverDrive was much less accessible than BorrowBox as an
online library system.
