This morning we were struggling to find the numpad overlay on the laptop
keyboard. NVDA Sometimes assigns object focussing commands to the number
pad. It is useful to know where the numpad keys are in case you ever need to
use them
Due to their compact size, many laptops do not include a dedicated numeric
keypad on the right side of the keyboard, like a desktop computer. To
conserve space, numeric keypad keys are shared keys with a block of keys in
the centre of the keyboard.
To use the numeric keypad on a laptop, enable the NumLock key on the keyboard
(function key + k). The NumLock key is used to convert part of the main
keyboard to act as a numeric keypad rather than letters.
When enabled, NumLock lets you use the 7-8-9, u-i-o, j-k-l and m keys as a
numeric keypad.
The NmLk key is located on the top, right hand side of the keyboard.
Sometimes it is on the same key as F8, F7, or Insert. Press Fn+F8, F7, or
Insert to enable/disable numlock. Check the manual for more information about
the Num Lock key
