Thanks so much for your comprehensive response Jackie. Snap! My situation
is almost identical to yours as regards spec, except that I opted for a
desktop instead of a laptop.
There were a few small things I had to learn due to changes in Outlook
appearance from my previous version; such as using Control Y to get to my
sub folders, and Control E to find something in outlook. I am sure that
there will be more, (I have only been playing around with this desktop since
Friday last) but nothing too daunting I hope.
I felt that my question was a bit silly on the face of it. After all, one
should take an update when offered. But I just wanted to establish if there
were any inherent problems or major learning curves being encountered in
Windows 11 for JAWS or NVDA users.
But I will probably take the plunge now, unless anyone else wants to share a
bad experience.
Thanks once again
Paul

Subject: [fb-exchange] Re: Windows 11 Upgrade?
Hi Paul.
I've only recently gotten a new laptop as well. I'm currently using
Windows11 and JAWS23 and also use NVDA. I'm by no means a Windows expert but
I'm not crying yet or preforming violent acts against my laptop.
I never had a start up sound on my Windows10 machine mind you I didn't have
memory on it either, so on this one I have 16gig or what ever the memory is
called on computers lol and a start up sound.
I find it quick and snappy and there is new weird bits but I don't find them
interfering with my usual laptop usage.
I can still do everything I did on my old machine and I'm actually using
this one more. I actually have a wee table and office chair so it's a
pleasure to use now.
None of this is as a result of Windows11 but if I couldn't use it I'd not
be taking it out of its bag and I'd be wining and moaning about it.
Good luck if you update.
Jackie

Subject: [fb-exchange] Windows 11 Upgrade?
Hi all.
I am gradually coming to terms with my new desktop and to some of the
changes that have come about with Windows, Outlook 16 etc.
I am being offered the opportunity of going up from Windows 10 to 11. As a
JAWS and NVDA user, should I go ahead, or am I better off with 10?
Any views welcome.
Thanks in advance
Paul
