Hi, eamon, There are several features one can look for with wireless ear
buds.
The buds can hold a charge and run from 4/5 hours to even 20 in some cases.
The storage can hold a charge also and can do perhaps 3 complete charges
of the buds, effectively giving 30 of listening if the storage box has been
fully charged.
Connectivity, most things now are going USB-C which means they can carry
100 watts of power so removing the need for a power unit.
Some buds can fit tightly so there is no background environmental sounds
heard, I like to have some environmental contact.
Not all buds have a microphone built in to the buds.
Many buds have a touch pad on them to control Volume, Stepping through
tracks back and forwards, Open a phone link to your smart phone and
generally controlled by single and double taps on either ear bud.
Some buds fit tightly in their storage box and held by a magnet and
sometimes fiddley to extract from the cradle in the box.
Some storage boxes switch the buds on and off as you open and close the
storage box.
I use at the moment M-Power buds. They make a range of buds and they are
nearly the smallest, and sit flush with the ear, so don't stick out.

Subject: [fb-exchange] Wireless earbuds query
Hello,
I am wondering if there are disadvantages in using wireless ear buds? I
imagine it is a little like using hearing aids; and the units could be
easily lost or mislaid. Having said that, I don't use hearing aids!
Background:
I occasionally use an old Sony MP3 player/recorder, for listening to audio
books it has a USB port for file transfer and charging, and a 3.5 mm socket
for wired headphones. It is now showing its age, and some of the keys are a
bit dodgy.
I rang Back From The Future in Georges Street, with a view to obtaining a
replacement. They suggested rechargeable wireless ear Buds. As I understand
it these are stored in a case; with a built-In charger. There are keys on
the case for file navigation. The unit has eight gigs of storage, which is
more than enough for a couple of audio books.
Any thoughts would be most welcome
Thanks, Eamonn===========================================================
