Great minutes Paul, as usual. It's easy to spot when an experienced notetaker writes them.

Welcome back!

All the best,
Adrian

Hello folks, thanks to Adrian/Stuart/Marti, who compiled notes while I was lying low with covert.

Winter has come in with a bang,

Were  past Halloween and heading towards Christmas.

Hoping I will not have to suffer Christmas songs or jingles until December.

There were 9 Participants for today's Dublin Tech meeting.

While talking about Zoom meetings, Adrian wanted to know if anybody has tried to log onto a Zoom meeting using their Ecco show device.

Mary tried this in real time without success. It seems according to Stuart/Adrian that one must ask Alexa to send a link to your smart phone to get this started.

Rather like setting up BBC SOUND.

Adrian and Mary have offered to try and access Zoom doing this with the link that Alexa will send to their phones, and report back to our next meeting.

We all welcomed Tom back to our Monday meetings after his recent illness. Tom wanted to know if he could use or change Alexa's voice while using his Kindle machine.

Tom changed his Alexa voice but when he started his book on Kindle, it reverted to the usual Kindle voice.

Cearbhall checked this out, and it seems that this is not possible at the moment.

Marti who was gifted a brand new Ipad, wanted some information on transferring her smart phone information from her phone to her new Ipad.

Stuart said that she should log on using her Iphone password, and everything should be available.

She also has some nice Ear Buds, and wants to know how to use them.

Presumably they are digital and she should go to settings, Blue tooth, and she will find them in her discoverable devices. The name and make of the Ear buds will be called out and you click here to connect them.

She also got advice on how to increase her gig memory.

Most people use that offer of 99 cents per month for an extra 50 Gigabytes of memory.

Mary complained about the fact that Alexa was reading to her a book that she read about a year ago, and not the book that she is currently reading.

Joe said that she should check this out on her Amazone Alexa on her phone. She should ask Alexa to read her current book, giving the name of the book and the author.

Mary will do this and report back to the meeting.

Mary wondered how she can get the ingrediants for some house desserts she was looking at on Utube.

Stuart and Adrian said that she should find the title of the Utube video she is watching and when she sees the name , she should double click here and arrow right until she sees the list of ingrediants for this recipe if not she should click more, to find this

There was a big discussion on the survey undertaken by people in Cork to find out how vision impaired persons get on with their chemist of choice.

It seems that one of the most annoying things to people with no sight or very little, is that many pharmacies cover the braille that is on the medicine box with perhaps a price ticket.

Mary and Cearbhall suggested to Paul that he should request a blister packet for his medicines. Then his medicine would be ready for a day by day dosage and this is great for keeping an eye to see that one takes the right amount on the right day.

It seems that this is a very worthwhile survey and could result in some good improvements with contact with your local pharmacy.

Joe has a problem with his Alexa device, when increasing the volume of sound there is a 25 second delay before this happens. This happens when listening to the radio. Paul wondered if this only happened when listening to the radio, and Joe will check this out.

The meeting concluded by wishing Stuart good luck for his forthcoming Blind Tennistournanent being held

In Wrexham.

Go for it Stuart.

That's all folks

Paul
