To all our exchange club members.
We started with a problem that Jackie is having with Microsoft sound
scape.
Jackie wanted to set a marker for her local post office.
She found her local an post, and tried to set a mark for this, but
everytime she tried to set the marker, the set mark button was dimmed.
Another friend in the area tried the same thing, but found he could not
set a marker there either.
Paul, tried to also from Dublin, but the button was dimmed here for Paul
also.
Paul then went to set a marker for his local an post office in Dublin, after
searching he found his local an post, and had no problem in setting a
marker.
Jackie has sent a mail to the soundscape team, and is awaiting a reply.
Tom was looking for help with regard to using Navi Lens, its something that
is working for visually impaired people in Spain,
Basically its software that is placed on things like luggage bus stops,
around metro stations and airports, the Navilens software can be read by
visually impaired people. #

Rather like the Pen software , people used to identify food jars and
different books and discs in the past.
Annette was asking the group about deleting group messages from Whatsapp.
Jackie and Mary, told her to go to the chat she wants to delete and without
opening the message thread, either swipe up or down with one finger until
you hear more, double tap and there is an option in here to clear
chat.Annette was having some difficulty so Mary will be talking her through
it later
Bert was asking about loading a covid cert into the wallet app on his
iPhone. Jackie's instructions are as follows: Jackie firstly, took a
screenshot of her cert, she then went to the website
https://covid19passbook.netlify.app/#intro Once in here she gave the site
permission to access her camera.This was loaded onto the site with no
issues. Jackie used Safari rather than using google. It was straight forward
once Jackie double tapped on add to wallet
Paul is hooked on using Sound scape, but Albert and Jackie think that blind
square is much better.
Jackie has tried using soundscape with Google maps and found this a lot
better,
She was brought to the door of her local chemist without a problem.
She also tried Apple maps with soundscape, but found the Google maps much
better.
At this point the meeting adjourned to hear of all the great offers this
August from Stuart Lawler and the sight and sound team.
The offers included big discounts on new jaws licenses, upgrades for Jaws
and great SMA offers.
It would pay to make a purchase here on some of these products as one can
save hundreds of euros, but the purchase must be done before the end of
August.
