something you will have to bring up with Fighting Blindness Martin for the next
concert of visionaries choir.

as I recall Martin, somebody called the names out and like a roll call we
said if we were there.

Eleanor! At the Dundalk Walking Weekend, those who attended the Friday
evening information gathering were encouraged to announce their names
and as you know, this element of sharing is a great asset in
identifying who is around the hotel for the weekend...I am very much
in favour of this practicemyself...Martin K

I can still use the Next Bus app. The Dublin Bus app has been

I think people would have to give permission for their names to be
announced by way of a roll call. when we have meetings at the league
of the Blind, especially Christmas dinner, there is usually a list
read out of peoples names.

Hi Folks, July is everything that June wasn't!
It's raining often, and not a bit like summer.
There was a very good attendance today with 14 participants.
Yours truly had a problem from the beginning, as he was copying a
word document to e mail to his walk leader, but as he pressed control
plus the letter a to highlight everything, and then went to do
control plus letter c to copy, my finger slipped, and I know not
what happened, but the names disappeared from my word document, and I
did not do control plus the letter z in time, to undo the mistake.
Will try later to see if I can get back the original document.
Eamonn had a question , he wanted to know how, to add a number of
apps, to a folder.
Jackie is our expert on this, and has contributed this instruction
for anybody doing or wanting to do similar to Eamonn.
This is the instructions for moving apps into folders.
1. Swipe up or down until you hear edit, Double tap with one finger.
2. when you hear edit, swipe up or down until you hear drag app,
again one finger double tap.
3. move to what ever page you want the app to go.
4. when you get to where you want the app you swipe up or down and
you'll hear" put app to the left, to the right or create folder,
Double tap with one finger again.
5.
If you want to move multiple apps do the first step then go to each
app and double tap to add it to drag. when you get where you want it
located swipe down, you'll get the option to create folder, double
tap to
Bus.
6. When finished to stop edit mode press the home button or swipe up
or down until you hear stop editing.
Thanks Lady W.
Jackie had a problem with Audible over the weekend. She wanted to
add a forthcoming book to her wish list, but Audible said that her
payment could not be verified.
No matter what she did she could not resolve this problem, but has E
mailed Amazon to help resolve the problem.
There was a long discussion on the latest situation regarding the
various transport apps.
Albert told us that the very good Next Bus app, has been discontinued.
This is very disappointing to many people especially Bert and Mary.
Bert recommended the Moovit app, as the next best for all using
Dublin
===========================================================
It's easy to use, gives plenty of notice before arriving at your
destination, and in his opinion is vastly superior to the new, TFI
app (transport for Ireland app)
Martin wanted to know, how to get the Bell working on that new
mobility app, called Voice Vista.
He has been adding new markers on this app, to help him navigat his
way to the rail station, He wants to get different sounds to tell him
when he passes a Church, Pub or other good markers.
Well the answer is that this is not possible yet, as the developers
have not got around to allow people sett up sounds or journey times
, but this should be available in the not too distant future.
Tom was complaining that Soundscape was giving him wrong information.
Paul thought that Tom, may have his menu set to What's around me,
rather than the more useful setting of My Location.
Tom will check this out over the next week.
Bert wanted to know how to change his Revolut app to current account,
rather than the credit account.
Jackie said to go to the add money link on his Revolut app, , and
here one can change from Bank of IRELAND to AIB or current account
to credit card account and so forth.
You put in the numbers for whatever account you want Revolut to use.
Mary reported that the attendance at the Visionaries concert in The
League of the Blind premises was a great success, with over 100 - 150
people attending.
Martin brought up a very valid point, as he sat there he did not
know what other vision impaired people were there, and suggested
that in future, somebody can arrange a roll call for all those
vision impaired people, so they can find their friends and meet some
new people while there, after the concert ends.
This would make the concert more accessible to Blind and vision
impaired people and would make for an even more enjoyable evening.
This is an excellent suggestion by Martin, and Mary promised to
bring this to the attention of the powers to be.
That's all Folks
Paul
