Hello Guys, it's Frosty your note taker today.
Artic weather in Templeogue south/west Dublin today, and it's forecast to
last till Friday, BRR..
There were 11 Participants for today's Technology meeting.
Amyriad of topics surfaced today. Including installation of new windows for
the house, insulation using chemicals to fill the cavity in building blocks,
and the new form of home heating by the air heat pump.
Suddenly the meeting was terminated at around 11.30, by a mistake by
Cearbhall.
Then it was necessary to open Zoom again and log into the meeting for the
second time.
Vera did not know that one can use Dictation to do chats on what's App, and
wondered where this facility was available.
Paul and Stuart said that there was a Dictation symbol to the right of the
EMOGI BUTTON ON THE KEYBOARD.
Paul asked his wife to describe the button for Vera. The symbol is a black
microphone button and when you enter on this or click it, Dictation becomes
available.
Vera tried this and was able to start dictation.
Vera does not like Voice messages, as they are very tedious. Most people are
inclined to waffle on as like in a real life on the spot conversations,
while voice messing requires the person to do a rather snappy and to the
point voice message.
Cearbhall complained about the poor quality of Siri, which usually prints
off some really bad spelling and some uncomprehensible texts.
Tom is having trouble, one of his contacts rings him, and although he can
hear his friend, his friend can't hear him.
His contact cannot ring him and cannot get through with the call.
Tom wondered if he had blocked this caller, but after checking he had not
blocked this contact.
Nobody could shed any light on this problem at present.
Tom's wife has a corrupted sim card and wondered if his wife could get a
new sim card while keeping her mobile number.
She has an Iphone 6.
Stuart said that this would not be a problem, and that she should go to a
Vodafone shop and one of their tech people will do this for her.
Martin wanted to know if one could get Microsoft Soundscape on their Apple
watch.
Paul said that he thought that this was possible, but was not sure, perhaps
Dominique or Albert would give a definitive answer.
Then Cearbhall aske most of us as to which apps they used mostly on their
smart phones.
Annette is a big user of Whats App, as where most people.
She also uses - Mails and phone and text calling as well as Borrow box to
read her books.
Paul says that Audible.co.uk is his favoured app as he is now reading many
books. .
He also uses Safari and Google to fine out information on a regular basis.
Vera reads the Independent and Irish Times newspapers mostly.
But also makes calls, sends texts via messaging and what's app.
