Some months ago I bought a quite small and compact power bank in Dunnes think it was for a not too expensive of a price too so they are improving/changing often enough it seems.

Cheers Paul,

Hello Folks, congratulations to Leinster in defeating La Rochelle, their  main rivals over the past number of years in the Rugby.

We had a great attendance for today’s Monday tech club, 15 participants.

Please note that next Monday December 18^th will be our last meeting for 2023.

The Tech club will recommence on January 8^th 2024.

We had  a wonderful recitation by our very own Marty, who recited a poem by Emily Dickenson  titled HOPE.

Well done Marty.

Also we learned that the Visionaires choir had a sold out concert  in Drumcondra last Saturday  night.

Eamonn had a question on Dropbox. He wants to install  Dropbox on his desktop computer.

Albert advised him to go to WWW.NINITE.COM <http://WWW.NINITE.COM>, and there he will find an accessability link and if he presses the letter D (for download) , he will be able to download the app to his desktop.

Adrian confirmed also that on NINITE,  if he goes to online storage, the first option he will find  is Dropbox.

Adiscussion on listening to BBC Radio 4 live began,

Cearbhall  thought that this was not possible any longer. It is, one must ask Alexa to send you a link to install BBC SOUND.

When this is done along with a few other simple  tasks, and BBC SOUND  is installeed, on your smart phone.

Then you can ask Alexa to play BBC SOUND, she will then say  what station do you want to listen to?

You can select any BBC station like radio 4, radio 5 live or radio 1 or 2 or any regional station like  bbc Jersey or bbc Manchester for instance.

Tom our man from Galway likes to listen to Brain of Britain quiz which goes out live on Radio 4 at 11 pm on a Saturday night.

Martin asked me to mention a gig which takes place  in the League of the Blind next Saturday December 16^th from 2pm, it’s the Hard Liners Christmas show.

The Hardliners are a group of creative writers who have composed some great stories for your enjoyment.

All are welcome at the event, which should be  very  enjoyable and Martin has a great story to tell as well.

Stuart told us of a very good  podcast.

https://www.applevis.com/podcasts/charging-smarter-dive-ios-battery-health-charging

This Podcast says that one should not let their battery go below 30  or above 80%%

Not everybody  agrees with this information, so people should have an  open mind on this topic. .

There followed a discussion on Power Packs. These are roughly the same size as a modern smart phone.

Cearbhall  bought one  lately, for about 80 €

It seems that when used it will give your phone another 7 hours of battery life.

The downside is that they are rather heavy, and not easy to carry in your pocket.

That’s all folks,  it’s now only a short run up to Christmas!

Cheers

Paul
