Eleanor! you came across very well on answering Peter White's questions and
hopefully, you have been probably rewarded for your flying ordeal.
As my Wife Anne was from Dundee in Scotland and lived not too far from the
Guidedog Training Centre in Forfar, I am still a keen follower of different
VIP issues that go down in the UK. So you can rest assured that I was not
actually responsible for the hotel comment and I'm sure that you will
forgive the editorial staff for this very small typo.
Keep up the Advocating Eleanor...Slainte as Mise Martin K

thank you to Martin for putting forward the fact that I was on the BBC Radio
4 In Touch on Tuesday 21st February. I was interested in Martin's comment
about UK guide dog training in hotels and no longer in centres. this has
been the case for years and years! congratulations to the visionaries choir
on getting first place in the competition they recently entered in Arklow.

Documents.
Hi Folks, it's a warm and mainly dry day in Dublin today.
Everybody is in good humour after the Grand slam in Rugby both for
the senior team, and also for the second time by the under 20's in Cork.
Well done to all the players, manager , coaches and all concerned
with both teams.
There were 12 participants today.
Martin kicked things off, with a question on the display of his
morning.
His documents are in alphabetically display mode and he wants them
with the latest at the top, working down to the oldest at the bottom.
Open the document folder and arrow right and go to the view menu, and
arrow down to display by date.
Michael wanted to know how to increase the volume on his phone, he
should go to voice over, in settings and look for increase volume.
Cearbhall thought that this should be in the rotor menu, but the
option there was to increase the speech speed and not the volume.
Paul thought that while he was speaking to us on his smart phone, he
should press the volume up button several times to increase the volume.
Victoria has a problem in getting her braille display machine to work
with her android phone.
Cearbhall said that she has the braille machine hard wired and not
connected by Bluetooth.
As I don't use braille and have little understanding of this problem,
I will hope that
Cearbhall can find something in settings to overcome her problems.
Mary normally logs onto Zoom through the history menu, but when
logging on this morning, she found the history menu empty except for
the Cork Saturday meeting.
Mary has not been at the Cork meeting for a couple of years as it
clashes with her choir practise meetings which take place every Saturday
week.
Mary finally got into the tech club by clicking on the link in
Cearbhall's E-mail.
The link for the Dublin meeting should be in Mary's history menu next

The alert which is being introduced in the UK, to alert people
through their smart PHONES warning them about disasters, weather
problems, bombs, war and other major problems was discussed.
This will be a sharp bleep like an air raid siren, with some small
texts telling the public what to do in a grave situation.
Also Mary told us about the next play in the Abbey theatre on April
8th which will have audio descriptions.
The final question of the day was asked by that man from the West.
Tom wants to know when the Orbit Reader
Does it have speech yet.
Cearbhall promised to investigate this for Tom.
Martin informed the meeting that in England, guide dog training was
now being done in a Hotel, and not in guide dog centres anymore.
Congratulations to the fighting blindness choir who got first place
in a competition in Arklow last week.
Martin told us that Eleanor was on a recent edition of the bbc radio 4
programme IN TOUCH.
That's all Folks
Paul
