Good minutes Paul, thanks.
Not sure if this way will work with a text but probably worth a try anyway.
When I want to say copy and share a newspaper article for example I
use the rotor and switch to 'edit' and share comes up and then I'm
given a few options as to where to share, message email and so on.
I usually share to email and the first time you insert the email
receiver's email address that will show in the options in the future
should you wish to share to them again.
It's great to be able to share that way.
I feel your pain in those strange symbols etc in emailing lists so it
would be justt great if Cearbhall or other could get to the botttom of
this in order that we can have this rectified.

Hello Guys, First a plug for our Tech and Walking members who are performing
this week, in a play called The Dark,
It stars amongst others the couple Martin and Kathleen, and our own tech
genius Eamonn , plus those legendary actors Michael and Theresa.
Performances are at 7.30 pm on Wednesday June 22nd and Thursday 7.30 June
23rd and plus a performance on SaturdayJune 25th at 3pm.
It takes place at the RUA RED Arts centre in Tallaght, this centre is about
200 metres away from the last stop on the Luas red line.
* Should you have problems booking seats on Eventbrite, just phone Anna
in Rua Red on 01 451 5860 and she will book them for you.
The Rua Red Arts Centre is about 200 metres from the Tallaght Luas red
line which is the last stop on that line.
There were 11 Participants today for our Monday Technology meeting.
Things kicked off with an explanation as to why Annette was not able to join
the Zoom for last Monday.
She said that when she clicked the link in Declan’s e mail she got the
message authentication blocked by Firefox. that day she tried again, and
she was asked for her Google account password.
She was wary about putting in her account password, but after checking with
one of her children, they confirmed that she should do this, and her husband
put in the correct password.
This did the trick, and she had no problem in joining the meeting today.
Well done Annette.
Mary wanted to know how Paul was able to copy a text and then send it to her
to share with her choir group.
Open the original text message, and using both fingers to engage the
rotor,
Go to THE MENU, AND WHEN YOU COME TO actions, then activate, tap here and
you will get the options to react, then copy. TAP copy, then select the
person you want to send this text to, in my case Mary on whats app.
Open What’s app, and engage the rotor again, and twist until you hear
typing mode, then edit, select edit and then paste will come up and click in
your message here, and your done.
John has a problem , he subscribes to the Irish Times, but now despite
paying 15€ per month, he finds it unworkable.
The voice says sub catory 1 then sub category 2 and so on, but he can’t open
anything or read anything.
He has spoken to somebody in the paper, and they promised to look into the
matter and get back to him, but so far he has heard nothing.
Cearbhall suggested putting in his problem in writing, and this should
solicit a reply.
John also says that he can’t use the RTE player to get a podcast of Sea
scapes programme.
Paul asked him if he tried his Home Google player or his Alexa echo device
to find the programme, and he did without success.
Paul tried also during the meeting with Lady A, also without success.
Mary complained that her Google home player will play for about 40 minutes
then drop out, Paul says that this is a regular problem.
It usually comes back in a short time, if not, ask to play the same thing
again, and it usually just continues where it left off if it’s a podcast and
if it’s the radio, it will just continue to play.
Paul puts this down to a load of wifi blitches.
Discussions happened on Wordle, the new word game sweeping the world.
Annette got a link from Stuart L. to solve the problem of colours which
are necessary to recognise in playing the game.
But the link does not work for her.
Albert said that she should go to Appleviz. Com where she will find a
podcast by David Mason in playing the Wordle game as a visually impaired
person.
Declan told us of a workshop meeting on July 5th, showing people with
Laptops on how to use a micro bit wood piece to learn on how to write
software music and so on.
It will be given by a lady called Emily.
Declan wil send ot an e mail with details shortly.
There was also a discussion on why some forwarded e mails had Chinese
characters.
Cearbhall thought this was because Apple and Android wrote software
differently,
Some in html and some in plain text.
People suggested copying the offendingmail into a new document and using
that to forward the message might solve this annoying problem.
That’s all folks.
Regards
Paul
