Hello Folks and congratulations to those Magnificent hurlers from Limerick.
Weather still poor, but better than that heatwave in Europe,
I was in Greece one time with similar temperatures, and itâs not to be
recommended.
There were 11 Participants for todayâs Tech Club.
Our man from the West was on first, and Tom wanted to know how to correct his
phone orientation.
Paul `` said to use a three finger upwards stroke from the bottom of the
screen. This will engage and bring up the control panel, then arrow down until
you hear Lock Orientation. Click this on and your done.
Albert said another way is to do a one finger swipe from the top of the
screen, and when you hear a bleep, arrow to the right, the control panel is
there , and go to Lock Orientation.
Tom had problem in logging on, and he really needs his Bone conducting
headphones to take part properly. .
Mary also logged on at this time , and sounded a lot louder than usual, so she
changed from her Bone conducting headphones to her airpods. Cearbhall said that
she was getting feedback on her Bone headphones.
Tom also complained that his friend rang him twice and he got no notification
that he had two calls. Perhaps Tom has Phone Notifications switched off. it is
also possible that Tom has DO NOT DISTURB
Switched on.
There was another long discussion about Smart Meters, and how to sign on for
using them.
Vera investigated this many times, and came to the conclusion that itâs
really not worth the bother. She said savings of around 2.30 or 2.40⬠could
be got on each bill from Electric Ireland.
.
This would bring savings of around 15.00⬠each year.
I have to agree with Vera itâs not worth all the hassle.
Mary is with SE Electricity and said that the best thing is to set your
meter to an all round charge of say 39 cents a kilowatt. This is probably not
right, as I get my watts and Kilowatts mixed up
One would have to be very careful that they never put on any eelectric
apparatus between 5pm and 7pm.
The whole affair of monitoring your meter sounds very tedious, but some people
are up to the task, but not yours truly.
To get the flat rate from your electricity provider, Cearbhall urged people to
first ring your provider to get as much help and information as possible before
taking any further steps.
Bob wanted to know if any other people using AIB banking had got that E-Mail
saying that itâs now possible now to transfer money between another AIB
customer , simply by clicking on their mobile number.
This would be much the same as what people using Revolut are doing. Of course
one must set up this transfer facility on your AIB app, and the person you are
transferring funds to must also have this facility set up as well.
I think that this is also possible for Bank of Ireland customers as well
Both Eamonn and Paul have problems, many of their apps, are appearing multiple
times, on their Home screens, and perhaps once or twice in their Libraries.
Paul said that one is supposed to be asked if they want the app on the Home
screen or in their library, but he says that he rarely gets to choose the
location.
Eamonn wanted to know, if he deletes an app from his library , does it
disappear as well from the Home screen, or vice versa?
.
Thatâs all Folks
Paul
