Mary says that she no longer asks Siri to make a call, as he makes a call

. And sometimes the call made is not from the same letter as the contact
, Mary asked for, like ring MR. Smith, and Siri, rings Mr. Wilson.
Talk about Apple started by Michael, it seems that those people with an
Apple Television, can read the menus , programme schedules and so forth
Stuart said that the programmes on offer from Apple TV, were very poor.
At this stage Sandy was going to join the meeting. She could not join by
clicking the E-Mail with the link to join meeting.
Cearbhall tried to help her but it took Sandy about 20 minutes later to
find a way to connect successfully and with her audio enabled.
This she did and we say well done. Sandy.
Navi LENS, is a way of helping blind or vision people to find what they
are looking for without outside help.
One must download the Navi Lens app first.
Then request the paper with the QR, code on it, this can be ordinary paper
or better still laminated paper.
Vinyl paper is better considering the weather we get here in Ireland.
One then creats a name for the vinyl QR code like Hospital, house, Post
OFFICE, DOOR , TURN RIGHT ETC.
This Navi Lens paper is then put where necessary . The VIP person can
then read the paper, allowing them to find the door, hospital or room their
looking for , these are called Navi Lens codes.
At present there are Navi lens at some railway stations like Heuston station
or Kent station in Cork
The person with the vision impaired points their camera at the code, which
will be read out to them.
Sandy most times the code will find you even if you cannot find the code.
Michael said that some companies like Kellogs use these codes at present to
enable a Blind person to find the Corn Flakes or Rice Crispies. .
She discussed the various kind of labels like Dynamic labels or Way Find
labels.
Tom thinks that this application has a great future, but Paul says that
those Public codes need to be available widely through county councils,
transport companies and airports to get things up and running widely.
It works rather like the old PEN FRIEND labelling system.
It would have a great use for people going blind late in life, to enable
safe passage aroung their house.
If one creats a Navi Lens marker it's only that person whose phone can read
the label.
Each person must create their own label.
But the Public codes can be read by everybody using their Navi Lens app and
camera.
Thanks Sandy for a brilliant talk, it was full of information.
Of course Insurance could be difficult to get by if everybody was creating
labels in Public places.
