Joe, I love all these historic facts.
Thanks
Paul
Nationwide on RTE 1 TONIGHT is all about Collins.

Hello Folks,
Looks like the very hot weather is coming to an end, but it was nice
while it lasted.
There were 11 Participants today .
Paul told those early birds, that he was in Glasnevin graveyard
To witness the 100th anniversary of two legendary Irishmen, namely
Arthur Griffith,
And the iconic leader Michael Collins. It was a very moving
celebration and it was wonderful to be there.
Cearbhall got a little flack as somebody thought his message to attend
today was a little confusing.
Paul encouraged Cearbhall to send out another message and this had the
correct response with people rushing to join the meeting.
There was a good discussion on the merits and lack of whilst using
Invision and Orcam reader.
Tom gave us a demonstration of him using his Orcam reader. It was a
book set in Waterford, and most people thought the speech clarity was
brilliant.
Tom said that two magnets held the reader in place at the side of the
glasses, Also these magnets can be attached to any type of glasses,
unlike the Invision ones which can only work with the Invision Glasses.
Our girl tech genius Jackie has tried both of these products and says
that the Orcam Reader is vastly superior to the Invision product.
Tom said that these products are not mobility aids but rather book or
news paper readers.
Tom uses his Reader with Bluetooth enabled to allow him to hear
through his After shock earphones.
Bob asked all , if anybody was using Winamd, a music player.
Nobody was , and Bob was disappointed as he said that he thought
that some old Hacks would surely be using Winamd.
This remark sounded like a slur on our old friend Cearbhall!!.
There is a new version of Winamd 5.7, and this could come back into
fashion.
This initiated a discussion on the word hack,
Martin said that a person at the recent race meeting was called a hack.
Bob in fine voice today asked if anybody was using Google Translate.
He uses this app to converse with some Ukrainian friends. He
demonstrated this by dictating some speech in English which was
immediately translated into Ukrainian
This was most impressive.
Vera/Paul wondered why no Ukrainian was on their Translate app on
their Iphones. The reason was according to Cearbhall/Stuart that the
Translate app on their smart phones was Apple and not Google.
Perhaps Apple will add Ukrainian to the other languages they have
installed to translate.
Next up for discussion was the various Banking apps. Cearbhall thought
that the Bank of Ireland was very good, but Jackie and Paul disagreed.
Jackie said that trying to transfer money using the BOI app was a
nightmare.
One has to double tap on the various pin unbers and hold them down to
complete the transfer and this was very problematic.
She said that the AIB app was much better than the BOI app.
She also extolled the virtues of the Revolut app. Cearbhall told us
that he uses the TSB app on behalf of his brother, and found it
brilliant and very easy to use.
Michael in Kilkenny was not able to use the internet as it was down
due to the storm, but he stepped outside his door to enable Mobile
data to kick in, and then joined the meeting.
Martin , Cearbhall and Paul had difficulty in playing RTE radio 1
through Alexa last week. Martin said if this happens again to ask
Alexa to play RTE radio 1 using
. Tune in.
Paul complained about predicted text coming on while posting to Facebook.
Stuart said that there is an option to turn this off in setting.
Annette was given some help in correcting words which she might
misspell while using the Rotor.
Annette lost one of her earbuds while lying outside in the sun.
Her son prior to leaving to go back to Australia set up her phone to
recover those buds.
The find app alerted her to the fact that her left earbud was still
on her ear by making a sound . But when she searched the garden and her house
no
such bleep came on to find her other earbud.
But sometimes the older method of finding is still good, whilst
hoovering the dining room , the ever alert Annette heard a sound and
bent down to discover the missing earbud close to her window. Alls well that
ends well!!
That's all Folks
Paul
