Bob asked if one can listen back to book of the week on BBC radio 4, Paul
explained about the bbc i player app, a veritable must if one wants to listen
back to anything on a bbc station.
Downloaded the BBC i player from the app store,
Open the menu, and you can find schedules for all the BBC stations, and get
the highlights, in the various categories like comedy, documentaries,
drama, factual, learning and music and so on.
Marti wanted to know how to forward a text message, and Mary should her how,
Open the text message, and use a one finger strokedown the page, and when
you hear more button, click hear,
And you will hear the options forward or delete, click forward, and you are
brought to the table index for your contacts, select your contact and then
forward the message.
Bert showed Annette how to use a few letters as a short cut for a longer
message.
Go to settings , then general/keyboards/text replacement, and you can create
one like OMW, for on my way,
So when this is set up, when you type the letters, OMW, into your text, it
will appear
Like on my way, saving typing time.
Cearbhall and Bert talked about that app for indoor navigation CLEW,
And both agreed it does not work 100percent, but we got a laugh from
Cearbhall's trial using the app in his house, which told us more about his
house (luxury dwelling) than it did about the app!!
Bob told us something about a product called NAWHA, something used by NVDA,
which allows a smart phone user to access his home pc,
Not sure about the details here, but will follow up next week, thanks Bob.
