Hi Everybody, Well Summer has finally arrived.
It was very cold in New Zealand when Ireland defeated the ALL BLACKS, for the
first time on New Zealand soil.
IN fact it was the first time in Dunedin since the stadium was built in
2011 that New Zealand were defeated, they had never lost there, so it's a
first all round.
We wont mention the Dubs match yesterday, except to congratulate Kerry.
The commentator said that he had a problem in commentating as seagulls were
blocking his view.
Perhaps this was what happened to Dublin!!
There were 12 Participants for today's exchange club.
Things got underway with a question from Martin,
He wanted to know, what was the latest iPhone that has a home key?
Paul answered that it was the phone that he bought a month or two ago, the SE
3 APPLE phone.
There was a good discussion on an app that Albert uses.
It is a transport app called MOOVIT.
This app gives you the times for all forms of local transport, like Buses,
Darts, Luas, and includes also walking information.
The app will tell you how long you have to wait for your bus/train/luas/dart.
It also tells you the numbers of the various bus stops you go by and so
forth. Albert /Cearbhall say that it is a brilliant app.
Another lively discussion was had by talk on Serveview.
This is the only way one can watch a number of local channels for free.
It now includes Sky News as part of its package.
Paul complimented again Albert for introducing him and indeed the group to
an App called Flash Score.
This app will give you scores for any type of sport anywhere in the world for
free.
Vera wanted to know if those training courses run by the N.C.B.I. in
Tallaght were available online.
Declan said that he did not know, but Vera could E- mail Labs at ncbi.ie to
find out.
Albert brought up the trickey business of travelling to Tallaght by LUAS.
Some luas trams go to Saggart instead of goint the full way to Tallaght.
But there is no way a visually impaired person would know this as they wont
see the terminus name on the front of the tram.
It would be advisable to ask sighted help to find out the destination of
the tram before boarding.
Martin told us that the ticket machine in each luas station
has a button on the bottom right hand side of the machine.
When you press this button you will be connected to a person working for
luas who can tell you things liked the time of the next train and so on.
Declan told us that Spotisfy has rather like qr codes, but their own version
and one can scan here and do all sort of things.
Mary told us that the fighting blindness choir will be performing in Hill
street (League of the Blind ) next Sunday at 7.30 pm.
