Thanks Paul, I promise to clean up my language for the next meeting.

Hi All, from a cool and breezy south west Dublin.
On behalf of the Monday tech club, First of all our condolences to all those
families dealing with that awful tragedy in County Donegal.
It was really sad, and our thoughts and prayers go out to all those people
who were affected.
There were 9 participants for today’s exchange club.
Things got under way with holiday talk from Cearbhall, who recently visited
Tenerife, and Annette who was holidaying in France, then staying a few days
in the affluent suburb in London, namely Kensington.
Annette told us that her niece gave her father a Portal.
Nobody at the meeting knew what sort of device a Portal was, but its small
and one can make phone calls and so on on the device.
Annette said that she would find out if this is a branded machine, and what
exactly it can do , for the next meeting.
There was more talk on Book Share, by Tom (our mild mannered participant from
Galway, an image that would be shattered towards the end of today’s meeting.
Stuart confirmed that he listened to Bookshare using voice dream reader,
and found it brilliant.
Tom would like to be able to use Bookshare the same as Stuart, and will try
and achieve this over the next week or so.
Tom, whose contact in the NCBI, said that Bookshare was primarily a
facility for students.
Albert brought up the subject of Skype which was invented in Riga Latvia, I
know this as I was in Riga and saw their headquarters at the time.
But Bert said that Skype although fully accessible was not as good as it
was before Microsoft bought the company.
Paul asked Bert and Annette why they used Skype rather than their Face time
app on their iPhone.
Annette gave the answer, because using Skype on their LAPTOP or Desktop,
with a much larger monitor, was vastly superior to Skype.
Both Annette and Bert also said that the sound quality on Skype was much
better than Face TIME.
Michael who lives in rural Kilkenny, had a very bad time recently with the
storms.
The storm ruined his 10 year old PC, as a surge in the electricity due to
the storms, blew up and destroyed his motherboard.
He does not know if insurance would compensate him as it’s an act of God.
Mary , Tom, and Bert entertained us with talk about their RING CALL devices
from Harry Norman and AMAZON.
Mary complained that Alexa which she uses to aid the Ring Call device, keeps
telling her that there is somebody at her door.
But most times there is nobody there. She things that the camera is too
sensitive and that her famous three , a Silver Birch could be setting off
the equipment by shedding some leaves near her camera.
Cearbhall suggested that perhaps she could move her Ringcall button to the
opposite side of the door, to see if this made a difference.
Tom said that he paid about 100 € for his bell, and thought it worth while
and would recommend anybody to buy and install a RINGCALL.
While this discussion was progressing we were all interrupted by manic
screams from quite Tom in Galway.
It seems that a bird entered his premesis without an appointment or even his
Ring call system informing him of his visitor.
Some strange language appeared at this time, perhaps a strange ancient
tongue from early Galway.
Suffice to say the meeting learned a number of strong words from the man
from the west.
Many people complained about the irrating messages that appear now after some
ios updates, that is double click to engage the context menu or click to
dismiss.
This is very annoying and nobody knows how one can get rid of this tiresome
message.
That’s all folks
Paul
