Jackie was missing or working on something else.
Things got underway with a talk by Catherine from Fighting Blindness,
Informing us of a walking challenge, ie walking a marathon in a month or a
day or a couple of days, to raise money for the charity.
Cearbhall was complaining to all that the sound quality at the Zoom meeting
was very muffled.
Most people did not notice much wrong with the sound, so Cearbhall thought
the problem was on his side .
Tom ( Our birthday boy)
Has a problem with voice over, when going into apps or reading a paper, voice
over reduces the volume to half its normal value.
Cearbhall said he should check his settings for audio ducking to see if its on
or off.
Audio ducking should be off.
Noreen keeps hearing the word Aventeur
Which usually one hears when a picture of a person using Zoom comes up,
Perhaps she did not exit from a Zoom meeting completely.
There was a discussion on the new Sky Q box, Michael Brown thought there was a
deal to get this for new customers, around 25⬠per month. .
Michael has this Sky feature, but has a problem in downloading the
voice/talking feature for the TV
programme schedules.
Mary told us that she has the feature of asking Virgin media to change
channels with her voice.
Its called Virgin media 365.
At this point the participants sang happy birthday to Tom in Limerick.
Vera wanted some knowledge and information on a really simple mobile.
She does not need the internet/apps/but just wants a phone to make and
receive calls
Martin suggested the Blind Shell mobile costing under 300⬠and itâs
heavily promoted by the national council for the blind. .
Would be a good choice.
Cearbhall thought a phone he bought recently would do the trick,
Its called Artfone . and itâs available from Amazon for 35â¬
It comes with sound and coloured buttons. .
It has a contacts menu, and sounds ideal for those wanting only to make and
receive calls.
Martin wanted to know if using the Password manager was a good option, for
those using a multitude of Passwords.
Eamonn thought this could be a good solution.
Thanks to all those who welcomed me back and rang me when struggling with a
leg complaint.
