Nice and useful minutes Paul as usual.
I particularly liked your description of how to make a Z for us totals
to understand.
Great tip of course too from Cearbhall re the Z function too.

Hello all, from a sunny but chilly Dublin.===========================================================
There were 15 participants for today’s exchange club meeting.
We were all amazed when Jackie proposed to Martin, who disappeared after the
shock proposal, so we don’t know if they are now an item, watch this space!!
Mary has a problem with using her shortcut to www.audible.co.uk
<http://www.audible.co.uk> ,
She can purchase a book , in this instance it was an offer of books for 3
pounds but although she could purchase one or two books with her code , she
could not exit the shopping page by using the back button.
She says to continue , to getting out of the audible page, she must turn off
her phone.
Cearbhall suggested using the z letter backwards, which when used has the
ability to cancel the last thing, so you can exit the page.
Mary will try and do this, making the z letter backwards by starting at the
top right hand side of the screen, then moving the finger left and downward
and then left again to complete an z letter backwards.
Mary will report back to the meeting on how she got on.
Many people complained that the audible was much harder to use than it used
to be.
This started a discussion on troublesome websites, like the Bank of Ireland
app.
Jackie said that this is not accessible to blind or visually impaired
people.
The problem relates to after transferring money from one account to another ,
your asked to confirm the transaction by tapping in your three digit code.
One must double tap on the number of all three digits to confirm but this
does not work properly.
BOI, say that their app is good for those vip people according to the ncbi,
but this is not true.
Tom wanted to know how he could get those nice new voices onto his iPhone.
This is not available but will be when IOS 16 is released.
John said that the Irish Times have brilliant new voice now to read the
various articles. John spends 16€ subscription to read the Irish Times
newspaper and one could hear Jackie gasping.
That’s a lot of chocolate money according to Jackie.
Tom wanted to know if there are any plans to have or set up workshops to aid
people who are going through the last very difficult stage of sight loss.
People thought this was a brilliant idear, and will be followed up by several
people.
Martin received help in setting up his secure wifi address. He clicked his
wifi address and swiped around to where it said join, he clicked here and
now he is automatically set up to his wifi account.
Jackie got help from Declan regarding a new cable to be fitted by herself.
Declan thought it better to connect it to another free port.
Everybody complained about phones dropping out, and wifi blitches.
Paul has had hundreds of wifi blitches, which one asks Alexa to continue she
usually does, but sometimes it is necessary to unplug Lady A or restart the
modem and unplug all plugs and replug again.
Cearbhall thought this was due to the number of people downloading films and
so on.
Those people who went to sightless cinema in Tallaght congratulated all on a
magnificent production. .
That’s all folks
Paul
