I emailed Joe Ramirez and he connected me with Lisa Kalmus. Her response and
contact info are below. Let me know if you’d like the article and donation
form. Will share via Dropbox or separate email since they exceed Freelist
attachment limits.
In a subsequent email Lisa said spurs, sabers, and Sam Browne belts are also
needed. Boots do not need to be re-soled. Donors however may choose to pay for
that either before the boots are donated or after they are loaned.

Subject: Boot Donation
Dear Mr. McLennan,
Thank you for your interest in donating your senior boots to the Corps Center
boot loan program. We are pleased that you have made this inquiry as our loan
program benefits so many cadets each year. I have also attached a copy of the
article that appeared in the Spring 2020, Vol. 37, Issue 1 Guidon magazine of
the Corps of Cadets Association.
Since boot prices have now climbed to the range of $1,600-2,100, many cadets
find this an obstacle to wearing boots their senior year. Fortunately our
program helps alleviate both long-term and short-range boot needs. As an
example of the impact that this program has had, I currently have well over one
hundred cadets in loan boots. Students are very mindful of what a difference
this program makes and are always willing to keep the boots in the best
condition possible so that those who follow them might also benefit. Know that
your boots will find a good home and serve a truly worthy purpose, enriching
the lives of cadets year after year.
I have attached our donation form, and my return address information can be
found below. Please fill out the highlighted areas, especially the signature
line at the bottom of the form, as this is sometimes missed. The boots may be
mailed, sent with another individual, or brought in-person along with the
donation form.
If you have any questions or require any further assistance, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Lisa G. Kalmus, MA ’93
