Kinda moot since we are freezing in the dark without Disney+ at the moment. But
4 dogs help keep us warm.

It’s not a bait question. Hawana is adamant that I watch the whole thing. The
issue is how to keep her happy without enduring the equivalent of a root

Not BS’ng buds just looking for advice from long term married guys. Otherwise
I make a big bowl of quest and plow through it and Hamilton.

Wow Stub!
Congrats on 139 pounds! I weighed 135 our zip year.
I have been working to get to 159... The last 5 come and go. What's your
secret?
My wife and I are huddled by the fireplace... Hitting the sauce just a
little... Still no elect power... Stay warm and indoors!
But, do you like queso? Lower case q. Notice very few guys took my bait...
Just like Townsley's. Very few. Poor Jeff outed himself as a Hamilton lover.
He thought it was a serious question and gave a good review I knew it was a
set up when David asked about Hamilton.
Just wondering... When kids today play soldiers, who do you suppose the bad
guys are?
It's a serious question. In our day maybe little boys don't play soldier
anymore? We grew up with Rat Patrol, 12 O'Clock High, Hogan's Heros, John
Wayne as both Davy Crockett and a Green Beret, and McHale's Navy. Remember
the little Jap butler? Today they would be canceled for that. Jap lives
matter. Pretty sure that just saying Jap is bad now. I am using it in a
historical sense.
This is why I don't use Facebook, I would never stop stream of conscious
objections.
I stopped thinking of the Germans as the bad guys when we grew up and I got
to work with German built machines in industry. Have had a least a dozen
German cars... One German girlfriend, don't tell my wife. Oops she is sitting
beside me... So I bought my wife a German car... She is happy about that.
I was a NASA space junkie as a kid, remember Werner Von Braun? Did you know
he was German? The 1960s space race was really a race between our German
engineers (all Nazis) and the Russian's German engineers! I met a Russian
German once in Nice, France, but I gotta go now. He outed me as a Mexican.
Story for another day.
Who else likes sushi? Who likes queso? I promise, not trick questions.
Queso, typing in the dark.

Ed,
Not a kale fan. Lots of veggies and fruit. Seafood is my go to most of the
time. Bourbon with ice is as sissy as my drinks get. Haven't had a beer in a
long time. Down to around 139 pounds (by choice).
Our roads might (not really) have ice on them tomorrow so we cancelled school
for Tuesday. It is getting down to 24 tonight, so that's really too cold for
Florida.

So... Townsley was baiting us about Hamilton!? Hmm.
What do y'all think about... Sushi?
When I saw the cast of Hamilton lecturing Mike Pence in the audience, I
decided I didn't need to see it. It just seemed like a stupid, arrogant thing
to do. Imagine the cast of Camelot lecturing Kennedy about Vietnam war. Full
disclosure, I don't like musicals much. Didn't like Oklahoma, Hair, Jesus
Christ Superstar, ...Bye Bye Birdie and Sound of Music are my favs. Guess we
are old... And I still sing 2nd tenor.
But I do like sushi. When prepared properly. And I eat it only in Japan or at
a place in Dallas approved by my Japanese teacher. Never eat sushi in Mexico
or at a gas station. Never at a gas station in Mexico! Unless you wanna die
of food poisoning.
Who likes chili con queso?
The hills are alive...
Queso, killing time while in Ice Bowl lockdown in Dallas.
If you read this far, you need a life.
Who remembers when we were kids playing army, the bad guys were the Germans
or the Japs?
Did I mention the Japs invented sushi?

Here’s my problem. I like musicals. I like old musicals and newer ones as
well. I’ve been in musicals, watched them live and helped produce two over
the years. But....
I can’t get through Hamilton. Don’t like it. Lyrics are way too fast and
couldn’t understand a lot of it without subtitles. It has nothing to do with
the subject matter or the cast, I just don’t like it.
Hawana thinks that it’s the best musical in years and has watched it numerous
times on Disney+, and I have started it several times, but within 30 minutes
I just can’t stand it anymore. She keeps telling me that it gets better
later on and there’s beautiful soloists, but I can’t muster up the time to
watch the rest.
It’s like Fight Club and Bruce Springsteen. Only watched Fight Club after
starting it over 5 times because I was invited to a birthday party where
everyone watched it and it was the b-day boys favorite movie. Never liked or
tolerated any by Springsteen then or now.
So, of all the crap we could argue over, this is a wedge of like vs distain
for. Guess I will knuckle down and try again tonight provided we have power
and satellite.

I read Chernow’s biography of Hamilton first, then bought tickets to see
the play live, but they were canceled due to the pandemic, then was able to
see the play at home on Disney+ (and I watched it three times). You can
watch a video of the live performance many times for the price of one live
ticket, and closed captioning is helpful too. I liked it very much and
recommend it.
