Dean, your research has piqued my memory.... and I believe Google is correct on
Holmes basically inventing the tow truck. I had forgotten that detail.
I'm not sure why Mike was at A&M and/or in the FTAB in the first place. Not
sure if there was a family history of Aggies, or not. He was a good enough guy
don't get me wrong, but just sort of seemed like a "square peg in a round
hole"... I think he got into grade troubles as a fish. He had money, a hot
car, and a lot of nice clothes... and shall we say "enjoyed the social scene".
Many of our classmates did though, and having grade issues as a fish is
certainly not unusual no matter what an individual's financial status.
I don't remember a Ridgway. There was a Gen Ridgeway, WWII officer who was the
US commander in Korea I think during that conflict. I don't remember a fish
Ridgeway in '75, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one.
The only ridgeway I'm still familiar with is the one I wore from '75-'77....
which I still have.

would indicate that his grandfather, or possibly great-grandfatherinvented the
tow truck in 1918.

Speaking of famous relatives, wasn't there a Ridgeway that was a class or two
behind us, and the rumor was that his grandad was General Ridgeway? Google
tells me that the General didn't have any male children who survived to
adulthood.
