We think we do, but that was a few years ago. Wasn't it actually in Ridgmar
Mall and they had an "outdoor" patio (that was actually in the mall) where
we sat?

Steve Monroe,
Do you remember dining at El Fenix, Tex Mex restaurant in west Ft. Worth a
day or two after your wedding? Pretty sure I was your waiter. It was
lunchtime. I think it was Ridgemar Mall or Ridgeway Mall...something like
that.
I remember thinking, wow, Steve is married and I am still living in a tiny
apartment with my Mom & sister!
My uncle was the supervisor of the El Fenix chain. He took me there for one
day because it was a new opening.

Yes - it was me and Glazner in the SE corner in the Fall semester, then I
got married and upgraded ol' ladies. We put a bar my dad made in the hall
with the other lounge necessities (fridge, couch, loft...).
There were a bunch of us that drove out to the Sun Bowl in David Tiffin's
van - David/Patti, Jim/Lisa, Me/Melana, We actually cut our honeymoon a day
short and drove to El Paso early because of a potential ice storm (didn't
happen). Melana has always joked she spent her honeymoon with the aggie
band....

David, thanks for reminders of Pipkin and Jeff Maddox. Jeff had that corner
room, first stoop near the band hall, Duncan side. He had a elaborate loft
inside there. He left me the key and some folks used it for a love nest
spring semester.
Our Zip lounge was directly upstairs, second stoop. We had 4 rooms,
Schwennsen & Henneberger, me & Stuntz, Glazener & Steve Monroe maybe?, Stu
McClennan & ?
Thanks for reminder of Sun Bowl flights, we were with the fish. I had
forgotten that. We celebrated new years twice as we crossed the time zone.
I still have a commemorative Sun Bowl cap. Some of us went across the
border to Juarez for supper.

Steve P.and Jeff M. both made it through our Sr year. They both made a
living bouncing between scopro and borderline grades each semester. Our
rooms were across the hall from each other, first floor next to the band
hall.
We went deer hunting on Maddox’s land around Huntsville just prior to
flying out to the Sun Bowl on New Years Eve on SW Airlines. Zips and fish
on one plane with PH’s and Butts on the other. Beat Florida that year.
Both guys talked about enlisting during the hunting trip but not sure what
came of that if anything. One of them, I think Maddox, upon returning after
the game packed his stuff and bugged out before the spring semester
started. The other jumped ship during spring break. But they did march each
year with their summers at Blinn.

I found Steve Pipkin a few years ago after being surprised to find his mom
in an assisted living facility in New Braunfels where my mother in law was
then staying. I had a nice visit with his mom, who I knew from when Steve
lived in Corpus Christi, and then called Steve to reconnect. He lives in
Cleveland, TX, somewhere near Houston. He and his wife have a horse rescue
facility. I thought he came back and marched with us in other years beyond
our first year, but he didn’t graduate. He majored in Animal Science, or
something like that. I encouraged him to join our then yahoo group, but
for whatever reason he chose not to. He’s easy to find on Facebook.
