Wow.  Lots of anxiety out there about 'backwards' meetings.  :O    Relax guys.
It's fun.  It's actually very interesting too.  Toastmasters is all about
getting out of our comfort zones and stretching ourselves.  Nothing like
a backwards meeting to shake things up!  :)
What is it?
Well, we start with voting and awards.  Then Gramarian report etc.  Then
evaluations and finally the speakers.
Who do you vote for?
Look at the participants.  Who would you expect to win?  Who normally wins or
does better?  What is their past track record?   Hmmmm.....    You can learn a
lot about how everyone perceives you in general.  In fact, it might be good to
list the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place 'winners'.
What do you report for Gramarian, Ahs, etc?
Same thing.  How do these people usually do with their language?  What do you
remember about their past habits?

Evaluations?
Getting the idea?  Evaluations work the same way.  Just write your evaluation
based on what you have come to normally expect from this person.  What are
their
strengths and weaknesses in general.  Simple.  -Now, evaluators will do a
'real'
evaluation in writing after wards for our speakers and their books.  We will
try
to end a little early so that speakers can talk with their evaluators to review
verbally the 'real' evaluation.  It's better!  You get 2 evals.  Double the
feedback!

In summary, a backwards meeting is not just a gimmick.  It's fun but we can all
learn a lot of new things also.  It's really not so hard.  I'll explain as we
go.  Please email me if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

Marshall
