Toastmasters, I am the club "Mentor Master". I wanted to share my "1 minute PSA" with you to ensure you are aware of our Mentoring program. If you have ANY questions or needs. Please reach out to me! Our Club has many newer members...each one being mentored by a seasoned Toastmaster. I encourage the new members to be in close contact with their Mentors and ask lots of questions! While each Mentor has given a commitment to the Mentee to share their knowledge and Toastmaster experience ....it is the Mentee's level of involvement and interest that will dictate the speed of engagement. We are here to encourage and HELP you, not push you or make you do something before you are ready. We know... When the Student is ready... the Teacher will appear! If you are highly motivated: demonstrated by volunteering for open roles. reading the TM manuals and doing the research to ensure best execution of the role your Mentor will see your enthusiasm. In this situation I'd challenge the Mentor to be sure your Mentee learns the protocol and is engaged with a role at each meeting and is being challenged! * Motivated Toastmasters seek out opportunities to practice their skills. If you are interested in personal growth but want to take it at a slower pace: demonstrated by being at the weekly meetings and fulfilling the roles as you are noted on the schedule your Mentor will see your level of interest and walk with you at your own pace to learn the protocol and Toastmaster program. Your mentor will encourage you to step out of that Comfort Zone and stretch your wings... the gentle nudge will always be there...but the Mentee sets the pace. We hope through this process a Spark is ignited and this member evolves to a more Highly Motivated Toastmaster. Often as you realize the growth you are experiencing and as others notice the subtle changes in you...you will cross this bridge. Our VP of Education: Phil Poplawski will be monitoring your Project Achievements and encouraging you to set goals and Reach for the next level... He will help you stay on track working towards your Personal Toastmaster Goals. As you achieve your goals the Club benefits as well. One of our goals as a Club is to be a Presidents Distinguished Club.. We are each the beneficiary of the end result, when Toastmasters are engaged and work the program as it is intended. Presidents Distinguished Club just happens naturally! Please see the snapshot below, you will learn more about the Club Goals from our Club President & VP of Education. If we individually set goals in Toastmasters and work the program we will be a Presidents Distinguished Club Each Member of our Club can be a resource for a newer Toastmaster. tap into this wealth of knowledge! We all love to share our experiences! Show, Play.Grow! Lori High Front Range Toastmasters Mentor Master Metro Division Governor Cell: 303-913-5146 Email: Lhightop2@xxxxxxxxxxx ToastmastersLogoColor
