Front Range Toastmasters

Meeting Recap

July 12th, 2012

What do chocolate, segregated proms, budget envelopes and the government
tapping into too many affairs have in common? They all serve as great
topics for Toastmaster speeches! Congratulations to Earl Allen who won
best speech of the night with his “Don’t use the Force, Luke” speech. It’s
always good to refer to Star Wars, especially when your speech evaluator,
who happened to win the Best Evaluator, is named Luke.

Reminder to future speakers, bringing food samples is encouraged! Lisa
Marty brought some superb premium chocolate samples. Yum-yum!! I decided
to run home to burn off the extra calories.

Lori Hugh, Toastmaster of the night, showed us how it is done with her
“Reaping What You Sow” theme. Naturally the word of the day, agrarian, was
farmer related. Those who used the word that night left others in the dirt.

Elizabeth Vidmar wowed us once again with her table topics discussion of
how to spend extra money. Elizabeth, as an employee of Xcel Energy, I am
sorry to hear about that Xcel bill. It really is a great value, though, LOL!

We will see you all Thursday!!
