*Swifter, Higher, Stronger!* Those ambitious words are the motto of the Olympics. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Olympic_Rings.svg> And, they are also themes used last Thursday at our Toastmasters meeting. Swifter: No one could have been swifter as Toastmaster than *Ms. Kathy Barrett*. She did a great job pumping us up for the Olympics and inspiring us all to do our best. Not to be outdone by the Queen and James Bond, she had her own helicopter entry. Thank you Kathy! Higher: We had the theme of rocket science, with *Luke Vesely* providing a great simplification of the complexity of the Voyageur. How far away is 11.2 Billion miles? It is pretty far, but Luke helped us understand that. *Bill Farrand *gave a great entertaining speech about Mr. Goddard, inventor and physicist, who is credited with the world’s first liquid-fueled rocket. It is very inspiring to see how those who dreamed about space were able to achieve much progress. *Stronger**:* Pat Haugse provided a great speech intended for the audience of cadets. He reminded the audience how talented they were and how they were just beginning their important role as an officer. Congratulations to *Luke**,* who won best speech of the night, and *Colette Smith,* who won best evaluator for the first time!! Lisa Marty organized table topics, always an *arduous* task (WOD), but she did a great job. The winner of Thursday’s table topics was guest *Marita.* Congratulations! See you Thursday!
