Good evening Toastmasters!!! We had a great meeting last Thursday!!! Toastmaster *Pat Haugse *did a great job, and the theme was toastmaster basics. We are all educated on how to fulfill our various roles. What do U2, old Grey Rabbit, Pecos Bill and Santa Cruz have in common? They all serve as great topics for speeches! Best Speaker of the night *Ray Pezolt* rocked the house with his belly-aching tale of Pecos Bill. Such an interesting western character and the things he did are so unbelievable! But all true I am sure. *Shawnette Callahan* gave a wonderful icebreaker speech, and we all know she is on the road to deliver more great speeches. Where I grew up, Labor Day is the weekend for a great air show, and *Adam Vesely* fit the bill for our pre-labor day meeting by providing an overview of U2, one of the United States Air Force's reconnaissance aircraft. It flies at an altitude at 70,000 feet, about twice the altitude that a typical commercial plane flies. Not to be outdone by the already great topics of the day, *Amelia Autrey* focused her speech on the Old Grey Rabbit, and is now poised for professional book dictation. We welcomed *new* Toastmaster *Shonnie Cline* by awarding her the table topics winner of the night. Great job, Shonnie!!! And, if you run for Governor, I will vote for you in any state that you decide! The best evaluator award was given to *Beth Chacon* and *Earl Allen* (a tie) and*Bev Wheeler * gave her first evaluation. Congratulations! See you all next week!
