Good afternoon Front Range Toastmasters,
I hope everyone got outside and enjoyed the day before tomorrow's snow
storm.
I was able to spend a wonderful morning at the D26 Contest this morning!
The competition was amazing and all contestants were very inspiring.
The person representing D26 in the International Speech Contest at the next
level is Rich Hopkins. His speech on reaching for and achieving your
dreams had us all running for the Ice Cream Truck!
Our own Gina Williams gave what I felt was the best presentation of her
speech and she slid into Second Place like the nut she is .... I am so glad
I wasn't a judge. Linda Rhinehart's speech on mental health illness and
never giving up brought her full speed into third place. The Table Topics
were fun and the contestants once again stepped up with amazing responses.
Don't ask me for the results as by this point in the contest I was so
amazed I couldn't keep anything straight :o)
I know you all want to know about this Thursday! So let's get to it ....
We are in need of a Timer/Joker and a Greeter. Can you use a timer and
tell a joke? Can you smile and shake people's hands in a welcoming manner?
Then YOU just might be the person for one of these roles! We also have
room for a speaker and an evaluator. If you don't see a confirmed by an
assigned role and you are the assignee' then you have until Monday at 5:00
pm to confirm with me or I will open the role up.
I will announce the theme on Monday ... STAY TUNED!
