Lori, I like attending club meetings and participating with the members. I also enjoy the TLIs as they are short and sweet, to the point, there is a degree of direct personal benefit, and we go out to lunch with close friends - and it's done. But when it comes to most of the "outside the club" district activities, I just don't have the burning desire to attend. A few reasons: > I don't feel like I get $100 of benefit personally. > I don't have enough time in my life to do the things I'm already committed > to, then to give up two weekends a year with the conferences away from my > family is too much. Add to this the contest season... > If I'm the Prez or EVP I feel that it's in the job description to attend -- > and I would be there for the business meeting at least. > To some substantial degree it feels like bunch of pomp and circumstance with > really no real meaning.
