Meeting from 2/27/2020. Missing Bill and Colette. We had 3 guests: Steph,
Mingin and Eddie. WOD was befuddled or thoroughly confused. Toast master for
the night was the one and only Dirk Kittredge.
Table topics was first. Everyone had a chance to play in the impromptu
speaking game. Jonathan was talking about the Pandemic with the corona virus
in the headlines. Susie was party in the shot glass in tribute to Colette.
Eddie talked about the longest music video; Mingin went to the coldest place on
earth; Jennifer talked about the longest bungee jumping if she even would do
it; Ashley took us swimming under the water; Kathleen talked about how when a
person closes on a home, the payment should be a cashier's check; Robin talked
about wrapping golf clubs around trees; Richa talked about the largest
telecommunication company and Alan concluded about the best selling music of
all time.
I was the ranter. Rant was about how at work and home, I am surrounded by the
mindset of mechanics; babysitting and referring.
After the break, it was the one prepared speaker Ashley and Lori with her
inpromptu speech. Ashley spoke about her history with vehicles and how she
went through tires like crazy when she had a BMW. I think we all can relate to
the Tokyo drift even if we only saw it in the movies.
Lori High spoke about the Toastmaster Spring conference May 1-2. Cost is $99
her advice is don't eat. Food at the conference is provided and is free.
After Lori, Richa was the joker.
GE was Kathleen. Eddie evaluated Ashley and Jennifer evaluated Lori. Robin
was the Art Critc and Kathleen was awarded the awkward turtle award. Rotten
tomato master was Ray. Biggest offenders were Robin with 5 rotten tomatoes
thrown followed by Alan with 3. Runners up were Alan and Luis. Kathleen gave
excellent feedback as usual. Anytime Dirk is toastmaster, things are
interesting!
Winners were:
Table topics-Jennifer
Eval-Jennifer and Eddie (tie)
Ashley-Speaker
Watch out next week for the club contest.
