Great recap, I wish I was there.  Instead I was “shaking in my boots” answering
what were my three favorite foods in a Demonstration event at “Howl at the
Moon”.  I picked Alaskan Amber, Colorado Native (yes, both beers – but
different), and Ham and Pineapple pizza.  I was too nervous to catch Colette’s
question, but I do remember her talking about her “height”  Who knew she was
vertically challenged?  Marieta was her charming self as always.  It was the
who’s who of District politics.  Rhea Thompson and Mike Akins were present.  It
was the last networking event for Marieta.  She is going out in style.  I am
looking forward to seeing more of her and Lori at OUR FRTM meetings.  Thank you
Jennifer for making me feel as if I was there.

Subject: FRTM - You Shoulda Been There! May 24 Edition

Thursday's meeting was a small one, with 10 members and 2 guests (2.5 guests if
you count Savanna's son, who came in to watch his mom speak, but spent most of
the rest of the meeting in the kitchen, where he didn't have to worry about
being quiet). We started the meeting with 9 members and 3 guests -- who became
a member by the time the meeting was done? Our other guests were former member
Jarrad, and Andy, Savanna's husband. She's clearly learned from the master,
Alan Wong, how to stack the room with supportive guests when giving a speech!

Speaking of Alan Wong, he started the meeting off on an inspirational note with
his discussion of "Acts of Kindness." Can you believe what one of his patients
traveled to Wyoming for?

Toastmaster Susie Minskey told us all about famous festivals throughout
Colorado to celebrate springtime, including Taste of Vail, Durango Blue Grass
Meltdown, and Denver's legendary Cinco de Mayo parties.

Our slate of speakers started strong with Pattie Apple giving her Feedback #2
speech, teaching us how to plan for our digital assets. It was interesting to
see how the speech transformed from the first presentation.
Next up, Jennifer Dunne gave us The Power of Role Models for her ribbon-winning
Ice Breaker speech. What television character does her life bear a striking
resemblance to?
Finally, Savanna Langan gave us her Feedback #1 speech, showing us How to Prove
You Love Someone. She brought the club to tears with her final story of the
most romantic piece of trash ever. Fortunately for those of you who missed it,
you'll have a chance to hear this speech when she gives her Feedback #2 speech.

Interesting, every single one of the ladies used her husband as an example of
her speech content. Pattie's husband has a small digital footprint. Jennifer's
husband has much in common with a television character. And Savanna's husband
was able to keep his promise.

Table Topics Master Katelynn Stoll had thoughtful questions prepared for
everyone. But there was one answer she sure didn't see coming!
Alan told us about his favorite summer memory -- getting married and starting
dental school the same year.
Jason works as a role model for young men who have lost their way.
Jarrad surprised everyone! What would he never do again?
Pattie told us her favorite thing to do as a child was to go to the library.
Jonathan gave a gripping pantomime of flopping across a bed, panting for breath.
Miguel told us about his most memorable vacation to Disneyland when he was 13.
Lori hopes that in 10 years we'll be embarrassed by how much we use Facebook.
Susie is inspired by her husband.
Savanna met her best friend at a "Speed Friending" event. What activity did
they both enjoy?
And Jennifer told us about college boys who would dress up in frilly nightgowns
to share the "best popcorn on campus".

Only Alan, Lori, Susie, and Jennifer used the word of the day, Invigorate,
which was required. Jennifer took home the ribbon.

General Evaluator Jason Marine took the stage to lead the evaluation portion of
the meeting.
Lori High did an excellent job evaluating Pattie's second Feedback speech, even
though she hadn't seen the first version, using Dirk's evaluation notes.
Alan revealed that his television role model was Kwai Chang
Caine.<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwai_Chang_Caine>
And Jonathan really loved Michael Jackson. Or at least Savanna's gesture and
voice when she said, "I love Michael Jackson!"
The club loved how Jonathan loved how Savanna loved Michael Jackson... or at
least, gave him the best evaluator ribbon.
