Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,
Toastmaster of the evening was Dr. Evil, Jennifer Dunne. Her theme was.
. . . .wait for it.. . . . .. .. Halloween. We even had a costume parade
where each member went up to explain their costume. Extra table topics for
all of us.
Highlights of the evening:
1. Susie Kirksey Minskey and Robin McIntosh were our two speakers.
Susie with her speech titled "Change" and Robin with "Please don't hurt my
one feeling". Two very good speeches with Susie improving and Robin giving
one of his best speeches ever.
2. Bill Farrand explaining his Pilot costume in an English accent
because he misses Alex. Robin was Dan the Safety Man, (safety first). And
Colette with her witch costume and a mouth filled with teeth that only a
dentist can love. And with that, Colette won for best scary costume.
3. Jennifer Dunne won for funniest or cutest costume. Good ol Dr. Evil
wins the prize. My personal favorite was Issac as Spooky T. He was scary
and funny at the same time. Almost makes me want to be friends with Spooky
T.
4. Jeff Stoll evaluated Robin's speech and Jeff mentioned great use of
props, a journal and a sudoku book. And of all the speeches Jeff has heard
Robin give, this was one of his most favorite.
5. My favorite line was from Jennifer Dunne. Before releasing everyone
for the break, she said "party like it's 2019".
Ribbon winners: Best Table Topics - Jennifer Dunne. Best Evaluator - Bill
Farrand. And best Speech - Robin McIntosh.
Final thoughts for the evening.
Another Halloween party, which is an anniversary date for Robin and I. It
marks our third year with toastmasters. (applause and thank you). I
sometimes wonder what life would be like if I didn't find toastmasters.
