Our Valentine's Day meeting was greeted by chocolates at everyone's place
setting. Also heart shaped candies in the kitchen, and everyone got a
hand-made card.

Our Toastmaster was Alan. Guests were Zak Britner, and Carmen (Monica's
daughter, who would LOVE to become a member. At age 7, she's too young, but
there is a way she could be with us regularly, which we may explore after
Monica gives it due consideration.)
The bad news: we ended the meeting with one fewer guests. The good news:
that was because *Zak became our newest member*. Jennifer did the "long
form" induction. (Who knew there was a short form? Well, Ray knew.)
Welcome, Zak!!
As Toastmaster, Alan gave interesting facts about Valentine's Day. There
are 220,000 marriage proposals on this day alone annually. 15% of women buy
themselves Valentine's Day gifts.
Monica was Grammarian. Her WOD was munificent.
Inspiration and Ah Counter was Jonathan.
Timer/Joker was Robin. (Was there ever a better Joker? Not in my deck.)
GE was Ray.
Table Topics was Luis.
First Speaker was Jennifer. Her Evaluator was Kathleen. Her speech was "I'm
Not Funny!" She can tell a funny story. She has a good sense of humor.
(Aside: if you can get her to laugh HARD, she might surprise you with a
signature *yeep*.) But she can't create humor. Or can she?
Speaker Two was Bill. His Evaluator was Monica. He spoke about "The Moral
of the Story: Ides of Middle March". It was a rock climbing *epic*.
(Meaning: someone gets hurt or dies.) Bill shared lessons from a dangerous
climb, in which fortunately he was not permanently hurt.
Alan informed us that, among singles, the name for Valentine's Day is *Singles
Awareness Day. *

Luis' Table Topics had some memorable moments:
- Robin fondled Luis' face. (Their wives would not have minded. YHTBT.)
- Ray gave us a very different spin on what a *good *Valentine's Day
looks like, from a PI's perspective. (It involves catching multiple
cheaters.)
- Jonathan talked about Neanderthal/homo sapiens mating, and how that
was important for present-day European community immunities.
- Carmen talked about her favorite animal(s). Encouraged to choose ONE,
she chose cats. (Wise child.)
- Alan mentioned how Valentine's Day is really Multiple Organism Day, a
concept introduced at an earlier meeting.
- Zak mentioned that his favorite love song is a ballad to MJ, not
because he loves MJ but because of the sound.
- Jen talked about how to make a special Valentine's Day, relating our
trip to Venice and a special flower. It was truly romantic. (blush.)
- Monica talked about special gifts she's received, including a card and
flowers from her Ex, and a 6 foot tall teddy bear.
Ray as GE gave detailed feedback to all of the Evaluators and Role Players.
(We need this more often. I hope everyone took mental notes!)
There was some discussion about whether the Toastmaster has the power to
override other Role Players, such as the Timer.
And the Winners were~~

Evaluator Monica
