Hello fellow members and honored guest Cheyenne Ruffin, who was visiting our
team. Cheyenne would love to develop her speaking skills to use in continuing
her education.

I would like to recap our meeting from last Thursday, June 14, 2011. The theme
of the night was Power Questions!

David Hassler our V.P. of Toastmasters performed as President, instead of Kathy
Barrett our President. He was also our Greeter, and he provided our table
topics for us. He provided everyone with quite challenging questions and
everyone did a fantastic job!

Shannon Silva did an excellent job as our Toastmaster of the evening! A Great
Job Done! Thank you Shannon!

Our Word of the Day was provided by Beth and it was: "dis-cur-sive - moving
from topic to topic without order or rambling." The example provided was: "The
speaker's discursive style made it difficult to understand his point."

A few weeks ago a speech was presented on history. This week the speaker showed
us a book that is very hard to find and everyone would love to have. The name
of the book is "The Amature" by Edward Kline. It is a book about Obama at the
White House and contains over 200 interviews. It is recommended that everyone
try to read it prior to election time. A person may be able to order in from
Barnes and Noble or on-line; however, it sounds as if a person will have to
special order it as many people are looking for the same book! I know I will
certainly try to order one from Barnes and Noble or from Amazon.

Our prepared speakers were: #1 Brittany Jones, who is a new member and did her
Ice Breaker Speech, #2 Lisa Marty, who gave her Ice Breaker Speech, and #3
Elizabeth Vidmar, who did her organized speech. Congratulations to all the
Speakers of the night!

Pat Sanchez was our general evaluator of the evening and did an excellent job.

Evaluations were done by Adam Vesely for Speaker #1, Dirk Kittredge for Speaker
#2, and Bill Farrand for Speaker #3.

Ah Counters Report was provided by Collette Smith who did an excellent job
doing this for her first time. Congratulations!

The winners of the speakers of the evening were: Lisa Marty and Elizabeth
Vidmar! Congratulations to both of you!

The winner of the Evaluator was Adam Vesely! Great Job!

The winner of the Table Topics was Ray Pezolt! His topic was "What has brought
you the most fullfillment in life"? Contratulations!

In the closing comments we had a question as to who is responsible for
preparing the name cards for members who do not have one yet. Perhaps in our
next meeting we will have an answer to that?

Next week on Thursday evening we will have the FRTM nominations for Officers of
our Toastmaster's Club!

See everyone next Thursday!

Sincerely,

Bev Wheeler
