The meeting was about "sight unseen". Specifically, speakers were invisible
to the audience. Dirk Kittredge, Toastmaster, conceived another of his
innovations--this one, to help us better notice and understand nuance in
the spoken word.

Dirk was assisted as follows:
Kathy, Grammarian and Word of the Day "Obscure". (Aside: Farewell, Kathy!
Your exit was gracious, like everything else about you. You will be missed.

Yours Truly, Timer/Joker (Today's joke involved a boomerang. Will you catch
it when it comes 'round again?)
Jennifer, Inspiration. From "The Artist's Way", about using all of your
senses...that's where the magic is.
Table Topics was headed by Richa. It came first, reverting to an older
approach to meeting agendas.
The Table Topics was about "name this Game of Thrones character from a
verbal description". Unfortunately, no one was able to name a single
character, though multiple times the audience clearly knew who was being
discussed. (That show has weird names for its characters.) OTOH, five
players used the Word of the Day.
There were three prepared speeches. First was Pattie, talking about
Professional Genealogy. Her Evaluator was Luis.
Second was Ray with "I'm Right, You're Wrong. Prove me Wrong." Evaluator
was Jeff.

(Dr. Seuss again proves prescient.)
Third was Alan with "We are All Leaders". Evaluator was Lori. Alan did a
wonderful job of including sounds of paper being crumpled or ripped as part
of his speech. He described himself as having the "reluctant" leadership
style, shared by George Washington yet not in Toastmaster's list of styles!

The Evaluators had the challenge of delivering their talks without time to
prepare. This was a kind of mix of traditional evaluation and impromptu
speaking! Still, they all did a good job.
General Evaluator Robin took the stage--visible, as Dirk had been. He
commented that, for maximum effect, Dirk should have performed invisibly as
Toastmaster. (Was he suggesting he wanted to see less of Dirk? Probably
not...)

Our Grammarian and Quizmaster both gave timed reports, a first in my
experience.
There was no Gesture Master tonight. I wonder why.
