Fellow Toastmasters,
Yes, there is a meeting tomorrow night. I have delayed in updating you to set
the tone for our theme this week, "Off the Cuff!".
I need some confirmation of roles for the meeting. They are listed below. If
your name is not highlighted in yellow, then I need you to confirm if you will
perform your role or not, as soon as possible.
Here is how the "Off the Cuff" meeting will work. Tomorrow night we will honor
the age-old stereotype of Toastmasters being a public speaking club. There will
be three speeches!
We have 3 unconfirmed speakers for tomorrow night and we will honor those
appointments if they are confirmed and be grateful for your commitment. For any
slots that remain open by tomorrow night, they will be filled by random
selection from the audience. You can volunteer prior to tomorrow night if you
can't stand the suspense. At the beginning of the meeting we will provide 5
minutes of silence for your to prepare a 4 to 6 minute speech using the
attached "Write a speech in five minutes" document. Those who participated in
last week's meeting received some training and an opportunity to practice with
preparing a speech from Katelynn. Building on that, we'll get a chance to
practice again, and potentially deliver the speech.
Should we have a full slate of speakers and role keepers, we'll still take some
time to practice preparing a speech in 5-minutes. I will also regale you with
antecdotes and strategies for speaking "off the cuff."
