Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,
Toastmaster for the evening was our wonderful Revathy Sukumaran. Her theme
was the history of ice cream. Word of the day was Confectionery. Not to
be confused with Confectionary. We had 11 people in attendance with one
guest (Todd).
Speaker #1. Eddie Leon.
Title of speech "Don't Give Up". In High School, he wanted to be seen as
cool and not nerdy. Single mother and struggles. Eddie didn't care if
others thought he was a nerd. Taking school seriously is like walking
through a tunnel with very little light. Pushed myself to drive a manual
stick shift. Learned guitar, passion from listening to his favorite
songs.
Speaker #2. Robin McIntosh.
How to complete our paths in pathways. Example with engaging humor,
elective projects. Write a compelling blog. Next button, next button,
next button. Honor system, "we" will do 8 blogs. And then Robin was
frozen from Zoom. When he returns he says "and that is how you make rocky
road ice cream".

1. Jeff Stoll. Q. Growing up in NW New Jersey, RIta's stand had flavor
ices. What special place do you take when you go on a summer vacation?
A. Northern Michigan. Dairy Queen and blue moon ice cream.
2. Jonathan Kolber. Q. Favorite place to get Ice Cream? A. Authentic
Chocolate Ice Cream soda.
3. Revathy Sukumaran. Q. Favorite dessert from childhood? A. India has
so many desserts. My Favorites are soda and ice cream cake.
4. Robin McIntosh. A. A and W root beer float. Shame on them to partner
up with KFC.
5. Katelynn Pao. Q. What is your special treat? A. Fudge.

Evaluator #1. Jonathan Kolber. Authentic introduction. Relatability.
Good articulation. Pace yourself better. Speaking too fast takes effort
to follow. Practice in front of the mirror and ask for interruptions when
going too fast. Correct speed of speech is more impactful. Speech had a
lot of heart.

It was another wonderful meeting with a small turnout but still very
eventful. Eddie's speech was nicely delivered. He had a very comfortable
presence and felt at ease giving his speech with no notes. Robin's speech
was not evaluated but was very educational. Goes to show you, anything if
presented correctly can be very funny. Revathy's theme was excellent on
ice cream. If we were meeting in person, I would think samples would have
been provided.
