Good morning Front Range Toastmasters, Dirk is still out with a whacky back so here it goes ... this weeks' recap. Rob Traver, first time Toastmaster, Dreamer and Traveler led us expertly through some of the top vacation destinations. The meeting was jam packed and included exotic locations such as Beijing, Paris, Prague and Rome. There were two speakers but one went over time and was disqualified from the running for failing to deplane in time. Congratulations to Deb who won best speaker with just her second speech. If you want to learn how to win in Vegas or anywhere really talk to Deb. She has the formula down! Table Topics ... what can be said about Feliks Melamed? He led us expertly and once we deplaned and got over our case of the groans we had a blast in a variety of locations. Out came the numbers and the map and we all took turns explaining why we wanted to go to our selected locations. Who was the winner? Why I'm so glad you asked .... It was Ray Pezolt who best responded by not responding to the question really at all. It had something to do with kilts n such ... can you guess where he was suppose to take us? Evaluators were detailed and gave great examples of what worked and what didn't. Great job to both Jeff Stoll, first time evaluator, and Lori High, our resident expert. These wonderful folks were led by the General Evaluator, Shonnie Cline. This was also Shonnie's first crack at GE and she really did shine. From giving detailed and valuable feedback to the Evaluators and calling on reports ... Shonnie didn't miss a beat or a joke. The winner in this section? Why it was Lori High who taught how important sticking to the project objectives can be ... she certainly schooled me. [?] Great lessons were learned by all who attended. From where to travel, how to deplane and beyond. Grab your passports folks. Who knows where next week will take us. See everyone next week. Sincerely, Colette Smith Front Range Toastmasters President Cell # 720-422-8637
