You should have been there last Thursday night! We had a full house with two
guests. Our president, Ray opened the meeting with the question Where were you
on 9/11/2001 which was our theme for the evening. Zoe did a great job as our
Toastmaster. Dirk did double duty as Greeter and Grammarian. Colette kept us
on time as Timer/Joker. Minh also did double duty as Ah counter and Quizmaster.
Jeremiah read a poem as Inspiration about things left undone. Jonathan spoke
about the element everyone has, Patrick gave us all a Denver history lesson
about a house on Colfax and Downing, Beth told us all why we should give her a
job, and Jared gave his ice breaker. Table Topics was random questions from
Pattie. Evaluators Jennifer, Jeff, Lori, and Ray gave useful suggestion for
improvement to the speakers. Katelynn was the General Evaluator. Important
announcements: Next week (Sept 17) is the Humorist Speech and Evaluator
contest. There is still a need for help with the contest. Contact Katelynn if
you are willing to help. Winners will advance to the Area Contest. Deadline to
pay your dues is Sept 30.
