You should'a been there this week!

The meeting opened with the usual flair and we voted in a new member,
Jerrod! Ray, our illustrious President, showed another side of himself last
night introducing himself as the Toastmaster for the evening! If only we
could all manage our multiple personalities so well-we all have multiple
personalities, right? Never mind. He led the meeting with "decisions" as
the theme. Ray shared how various decisions shaped his life and career as
did Lori! I wish you could have been there!

Beth Chacon kept with the theme during Table Topics with questions centered
on decisions. It turned out to be a "tell all" Toastmasters confessional
with Jeremiah, Patrick, Phil.well almost everyone disclosing deep, dark
secrets of their past lives. Our first-time guest, Sherry, even jumped into
the sharing! Jeff walked away with the trophy this time with his intimate
thoughts and experiences with plastic and paper-again, you just had to be
there!

The speeches were awesome with Jennifer informing with masterful
organization the ins and outs of planning a cruise. Joe encouraged us to
avoid "getting stuck" in life. Finally, we were fortunate to hear the
District 26 representative to the International Speech Contest, Kelsey Robb,
give her award-winning speech, "Light House, Light House." It was a moving
account of friendship and separating important life lessons from the
teacher.and, of course, she won our trophy for Best Speech for the evening!
Jeff, Katelynn and Lori evaluated our speakers with Lori taking the Best
Evaluator Trophy for her evaluation of our Best Speaker!-you should have
been there.

Finally, Pattie was our General Evaluator. She gave great coaching to our
evaluators and was assisted by a great team-Phil counting "Ahs", Jeremiah
challenging our memory as last-minute Quizmaster (thanks!), and Patrick
tracking the time flawlessly in his first time as Timer/Joker. Jonathan did
a great job as Grammarian, providing individual feedback on good usage of
the English language! We were also inspired by Michelle who doubled as the
Greeter (along with Lori).

Hope to see you next week as your presence is so important to each of us
when you can.be there!
