Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,
Toastmaster for the evening was the wonderful Susie Minskey. Her theme for
the evening was Cats and Dogs. (or should that be Dogs and Cats).
There were 14 members in Zoom with one guest; Hiliary Hutchinson.
Table Topics Master was Bill Farrand. Far side photo by Gary Larson. The
lucky chosen ones were to explain a Far Side photo. A few notables from

Grammarian: the amazing Dirk Kittridge. Word of the day was:
SOJOURN: A temporary stay.
Speaker #1. Kathleen Jewby: The most important puzzle. CU Boulder take
me with you. What job is that? Known vision for years. Figuring out how
to accomplish goals. Book drivers. Missing piece.
Speaker #2. Robin McIntosh: It's all about you too. Speaking standing.
Gestures purposeful. Going outside the box, oh yea. Speech all about VP
of Education. Adding bells and whistles.
Speaker #3. Richa Acharya: Ice Breaker. Few years of her life. No sleep
overs. No no to boyfriends. Culture and tradition. Upbringing dictates
life. Wanted network of friends. Relationship should uplift you!
General Evaluator : The awesome Katelynn Pau
Evaluator #1. Jeff Stoll on Kathleen: Personal stories. Everyone loves
personal stories. Sounds like a person playing role of narrative.
Detached. Adjust cadence.
Evaluator #2. Dirk Kittridge on Robin: Train wreck. Wheels came off the
wagon. Challenge - what is your message? What is the take away? Wrap
formality around this because your a great presenter.
Evaluator #3. Johnathan Kolber on Richa: Touched a level of pathos.
Brought ache and depth. Dramatic contrast. Best speech ever. Put a bow
on this.
Katelynn Pau evaluated the evaluators. She mentioned that all the
evaluators had great feedback to all the speakers. She did mention that
Dirk was a little blunt on Robin. It's all good. We're all here to learn
from each other.

It was another great meeting. The lineup with three great speakers gave it
high anticipation. The sequence in having table topics come first was an
interesting change. And everyone loves "Far Side" so it was fun with a lot
of humor. There was one guest in Hiliary and the energy always moves up a
few notches whenever there's a guest. It's a chance for all of us to shine
a little brighter.
If I can take home one thing from each meeting, I feel I've accomplished my
reason for being in toastmasters. And with this meeting, I took home 3
things.
1. Dirk evaluating Robin - "what is your message"
2. I'm giving a speech next week and I'm anxious. I better have a message
in my speech.
3. We're all an amazing group. Zoom or in person. Nothing sways us away
from how great we all are.
